Hi friends!! Today I wanted to share a new favorite of mine. So maybe about a month and a half ago I shared some products on my Instagram story. I was lucky enough to try out a new skincare company’s products. Blooming Iris Skincare was started by a fellow classmate of mine. The company and founder, Akabalon, have the goal of everyone achieving clear, healthy skin through their products. Blooming Iris’ products are made from all natural products: essential oils, organic products, as well as vitamin oils. So now that I’ve gotten some basic background info out of the way, I want to discuss some of the products.

Aloe Vera Toner

I actually purchased the Aloe Vera Toner in the spray form. I use that every night, as part of my nightly skincare routine. This toner comes in a jar as well! I just truly enjoy the spray, because it’s quick and easy. I used it this morning really quickly {because I woke up and my face looked a mess} and I was good to go! I didn’t even moisturize and it’s not drying at all!!

Honey Scrub

This was the first scrub that I tried out of the batch that AK sent to me. It smells soo good! I’m the type of person that likes to use a softer scrub on my face, because I feel like it just cleans better and this was perfect. I used this right after my makeup wipe and then another cleanser. It was a great final step!

Coconut Lip Scrub

I’m a sucker for lip scrubs and this one smells yummy and actually kind of tastes yummy if you happen to lick your lips. After you wipe the scrub particles off, it leaves your lips nice and moisturized. I just used it actually and my lips are nice and smooth right now.

Brown Sugar Scrub

Another great scrub full of natural and nourishing ingredients and great on your body. Just like the lip scrub, it leaves your body feeling nice and smooth.

Face Serum

I just got into face serums this past summer and I have really been enjoying them. This one is great! It moisturizes my face without making it greasy, I would definitely recommend!

I hope you all enjoyed this little review, I thought it was fun. I truly enjoy the brand and the lovely lady that started it. It’s amazing to start something from scratch and still be in college. The prices are great, so try some products out!! She has body butters, face masks, face wash and scar removers as well, and I believe you get some percentage off your first order!

Thanks for reading xo!

I drank a gallon of water a day and this happened…

I have never felt better honestly, my face is clearer and brighter and I do not feel bleh. Now i haven’t worked out in weeks and have just been feeling gross. Without changing my diet at all, just simply drinking a gallon of water {or close to, because it definitely is hard!} I feel 10x better about myself mentally and physically.

I drank a gallon of water everyday for a week. Now I no longer do this, because it is SO hard to keep up with. I am more mindful of my water intake and can drastically feel a difference with my body, both inside and outside, when I don’t have enough water in me.

Now, I’m no doctor, and I honestly think a gallon of water for my weight is a little much, so do some research. Your water intake is supposed to be based off of your weight. But, if you google it, the estimated daily intake is about 8 glasses, or 1.9 liters a day. This is all wayyy to much, so I just fill my water bottle up like 3 or 4 times a day ha!

Anyway here are some water fun facts!:

-eliminates toxins which ultimately helps you to lose weight because the toxins are no longer being stored in fat cells

-water is one of the most vital sources of energy, so instead of going for another cup of coffee or downing a red bull, drink some water

-prevents overeating and makes you feel fuller, which keeps you from randomly eating {haha @ me}

-decreases headaches {unless you have allergies and get migraines like me, that does not help ☹️} headaches are the first sign of dehydration

-improves skin and helps with preventing wrinkles, acne and brightening dull skin

-when you drink more water it actually boosts your metabolism which means your body burns food quicker and reduces overall weight gain

-makes your hair and nails stronger and helps give you a healthy scalp

Hellloooo! I am so excited to be sharing this DIY with you guys!! I have been doing this the entire summer and have fallen in love with it! It is such a great scrub and the best thing is you can find all of the ingredients at home! Read through the entire post for all of the steps and how great coffee is for your skin {hint: wayy more benefits then ya think!}

So first things first: ingredients. You will need an oil; I have used both olive oil and coconut oil. I have to say coconut oil is way better and holds more of a solid form! You will need coffee grounds, I chose to use a used K-Cup, it’s like recycling!! And last but not least you will need some sugar, I chose just to use white sugar. I’m sure brown sugar works fine as well, although it tends to be bigger than regular white sugar, so it may be abrasive.

I will be honest, I have no idea about the measurements; I just kind of wing it haha! Do what you feel is best. In the end, less is safer and you can always add more in the end!

The Coconut Oil, my mom bought this for cooking purposes! I will link a similar one here.

Your basic white sugar.

Some super yummy {and strong!!} coffee grounds.

Starbucks K-Cups, my family’s Keurig {larger version}, my dorm Keruig, {smaller version}

Get a cute lil bowl and add the sugar. If you decide to use a K-Cup, you’ll have to remove the top foil and scrape the coffee grounds out. Add the grounds to the bowl!

Add in the coconut oil and mix, mix, mix! If it looks like dirt, you’re good!

Scoop some up and rub it between your hands for a test. After you think you’ve rubbed your hands enough, rinse and dry. You are left with the SOFTEST hands!! I do have to say that coconut oil has left my hands softer and more moisturized then when I mixed in olive oil.

I love to shave my legs first and then exfoliate with this scrub after. It leaves my legs soft, shiny and moisturized. I don’t even have to worry about putting on lotion after I shave! This is great for all over your body too! And it is totally natural.

Coffee has several different benefits for your skin and I wanted to share some of them with you!

Apparently the scent of coffee acts as a calming agent and is an anti-depressant as well, which be perfect in a warm shower or bath!

Coffee acts as a natural antioxidant and helps fight premature aging, cancer and heart disease. According to India Times, there is a study that shows coffee bean extracts can be responsible for preserving skin cell energy.

This coffee scrub in particular exfoliates, which helps reduce the appearance of cellulite and increases blood flow as well! Scrubs remove dead skin and reveal new skin cells, leaving you with glowing skin. Best part is, you can make this one at home! And coconut oil allows for soft moisturized skin!!

As for skin texture, it constricts blood vessels, making the skin tighter and firmer. Coffee helps to regulate skin re-growth, which increases collagen.

I hope you enjoyed all of the information and the DIY I threw at you today!! Have a wonderful day. xoxo

Birthday Wishlist

My birthday is just a short two weeks away and these are a few of the things that are on my list! I really want a camera and would be perfectly happy if that is all I got! Makeup is always on my shopping wishlists too. I’m dying over the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette and it hasn’t even been released yet, so I’ll definitely be saving some bday money for that!
What are some things that are on your wishlist for spring, summer or just in general??
